The Emergence of Sepanta Industrial Group: A Pioneer in Iran’s Steel Pipe and Profile Industry

The birth of the steel pipe and profile industry in Iran in the early 1960s coincided with the establishment of Sepanta Industrial Group as the first profile producer in the country. The name “Sepanta” became synonymous with steel profiles during that period, and for many years after, various profiles were known as “Sepanta.”

Establishment and Growth:

 Founded in 1960, Sepanta’s manufacturing plant in Tehran began operating in 1961.
* Before the Islamic Revolution, Sepanta was the largest producer of pipes and profiles in Iran, with two manufacturing plants in Tehran (on the old Karaj road, kilometer 9 of the current فتح highway) and Ahvaz (kilometer 5 of the Ahvaz-Khorramshahr road).

Post-Revolution Developments:

 After the Islamic Revolution, Sepanta came under the supervision of the Ministry of Industries and then the 15th Khordad Foundation.
The company maintained its position as one of the largest production units in the industry with an annual production of 300,000 tons by expanding its production lines in the Tehran plant and launching a pipe drawing line and a galvanized sheet line in the Ahvaz plant.
